Description

Those of you taking this Frailty Certification course will be on the cutting edge of new models of care where risk and benefit are identified for each patient and their expectations and priorities are addressed in light of their degree of risk and potential benefits from healthcare decisions they make. This will benefit you professionally and that, in turn, will bring benefit to your patients.  The curriculum has been designed to provide information on frailty and the associated impact of frailty on chronically ill people in a variety of settings. This course is approximately 2 hours in length. There are 2 nursing CEs available for this course.

Upon completion of the program, attendees should be able to;
1. Define frailty and identify contributing factors for frailty
2. Discuss the outcomes associated with increasing frailty
3. Identify signs of decline – the “Red Flags” of frailty
4. Understand common barriers to communication with frail residents
